Music after dark
Evening concerts at Sainte-Chapelle
Classical concerts run in the upper chapel on many evenings, separately from the daytime visit — what to know before you plan one in.
Check tour dates on Viator ↗A different booking from the daytime visit
Evening concerts in the chapel are organised and ticketed separately from daytime entry, by concert promoters rather than through a daytime visit. Check listings specifically for a concert date rather than assuming a day ticket covers it.
What's usually on the programme
The repertoire leans Baroque and classical — Vivaldi's Four Seasons is a recurring favourite, alongside Mozart, Bach and Pachelbel, usually performed by small ensembles.
The setting changes after dark
Without daylight through the windows, the chapel is lit artificially for an evening programme — a different atmosphere from a daytime visit built around natural light moving across the glass.
Planning around one
Concerts usually last about an hour with no interval. If a concert is the plan for the evening, treat it as the main event rather than an add-on to a daytime visit.
